The Crack Filling Process

Our asphalt crack filling starts by cleaning the dust and debris from the crack using a high-pressure stream of air. Crack routing with an asphalt heat lance is also available. We then seal the crack injecting a hot pour rubberized sealant into the asphalt pavement to prevent water from penetrating the sub-grade and stone base. The extreme heat during application causes the sides of the asphalt in the crack to melt and form a much stronger bond with the crack sealer upon cooling. Due to its high elasticity, our crack sealer expands and contracts with the thermal movements of the crack. Also, because of its high melting point, it will not track or pick up with traffic.
